As the Resident Master of S. R. Zhou Hall, I am so pleased to extend my warmest welcome to every one of you. I sincerely hope that you will find your hall life here homely, exciting, and fruitful. The Hall is named after Mr. Zhou Shuren who was a leading figure of modern Chinese literature. He is a role model for us to follow, as he dared to step out of his comfort zone and make consistent effort and contribution to the society even in hard times. The motto of “Aide Sans Frontières” of Zhou Hall echoes the spirit of Lu Xun, the pen name of Mr. Zhou, which means to step out of boundaries as well as to serve the community.  Hall-life education and living is indeed an important part of campus life, which can provide us a favorable setting where we can put into practice our whole-person education heritage well adhered to by the University since its founding in 1956. I trust that Zhou Hall residents as Zhousians, whether local, non-local or international, will work together with our dedicated Resident Community Officer, Hall staff, Hall Council members, and Hall Tutors to make our hall-life residence and education a horizon-broadening and life-enriching one. I believe that all this will be conducive to promoting our lifelong, life-wide and life-deep learning in the future.
